Malaysia Airlines flights to Bandung & Yogyakarta remain cancelled

Due to the unsafe condition of the volcanic ash cloud over the Bandung airspace, Malaysia Airlines' flights to and from Bandung on Tuesday, 16 November 2010 will be cancelled.

Currently, flights connecting Kuala Lumpur to Yogyakarta remain cancelled.

The following flights will still continue to be affected:

  • Kuala Lumpur - Bandung (MH859) will be cancelled on 16th November 2010.
  • Bandung - Kuala Lumpur (MH858) will be cancelled on 16th November 2010.
  • Kuala Lumpur - Yogyakarta (MH857) will be cancelled until 21th November 2010.
  • Yogyakarta - Kuala Lumpur (MH856) will be cancelled until 21th November 2010.

Passengers on the affected flights have 4 options:

  • Passengers originally bound for Bandung from Kuala Lumpur will be redirected to Jakarta and shuttled to Bandung via bus. Similarly those departing Bandung will be shuttled to Jakarta via bus
  • Passengers originally bound for Yogyakarta from Kuala Lumpur can exchange tickets to fly to Surabaya and vice versa. However, ground arrangements will not be covered.
  • Get a full refund depending on the terms and conditions of the fare type
  • Re-book on the next available flight

As the situation remains volatile, passengers are advised to check the flight status at www.malaysiaairlines.com before proceeding to the airport.
